About the Role:
You will design, develop, and maintain scalable applications that power key products and services, working as a core contributor within a cross-functional remote team. Collaborating closely with product, QA, and other engineers, you’ll turn business requirements into robust technical solutions. Your work will directly support the company’s ability to grow quickly while maintaining reliability, performance, and code quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement scalable software applications using at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and web services to support front-end applications and third-party integrations.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, including unit and integration tests, following established coding standards.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues across the stack to improve stability and performance.
- Collaborate with remote team members via tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Jira to plan, estimate, and deliver features.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement of team processes.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including designing schemas, writing queries, and optimizing data access.
- Use version control systems (e.g., Git) for branching, merging, code reviews, and maintaining a clean, reliable codebase.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Software Developer working on production-grade applications.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with Git or other modern version control systems in a collaborative team environment.
- Practical understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum.
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and debug scalable applications in a cloud or distributed environment.
- Solid understanding of databases and SQL/NoSQL technologies, including data modeling and query optimization.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code with a focus on long-term sustainability.
- Comfortable working in a fully remote setup and collaborating effectively using digital communication and project management tools.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience building and maintaining microservices-based architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tools.
- Exposure to containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Background in performance tuning and application monitoring.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and services.
- Knowledge of security best practices in web and API development.
- Prior experience in a startup or scale-up environment, especially during accelerated growth phases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional certifications in software development, cloud platforms, or Agile methodologies are an advantage.
- Evidence of ongoing learning, such as relevant courses, open-source contributions, or personal projects, is highly valued.
